ABOUT

Knowing where to start or how to build an Occupational Health, Safety & Wellness program can be challenging; I’m here to lighten the load. I’m an honest and positive professional whose first priority is always the interests of my clients. Currently I work full time and do this on the side.

Knowing where to start or how to build an Occupational Health, Safety & Wellness program can be challenging; I am here to lighten the load. I am an honest and positive professional whose priority is always the best interests of my clients. 

I have 15 years of experience in health and safety, including ten years in health care safety. I continue to work in a permanent full-time job in the health and safety field. As such, I am competent and experienced as a health and safety consultant.

I have managed up to 18 sites at once and worked with numerous managers to ensure the safety of 5000 - 7000 employees. I worked in High River and Canmore during the floods in 2013. I was also involved with the fire response in Fort McMurray and High Level in 2016 and 2019.

In my current role, I am part of a support team for Calgary's Emergency Medical System, the Covid Assessment Centres, the Covid Vaccine sites, and the field hospitals.

I am experienced and quite comfortable dealing with Occupational Health and Safety officers and formal inspections from Occupational Health and Safety. I am proficient in conducting walkthroughs and completing Serious Incident Investigations.

I have extensive experience with ergonomic assessments in the following environments: offices, surgical suites, diagnostic imaging stations, and laboratories. As well, I have experience in the health and safety design of large projects. In the past, my recommendations were utilized and resulted in a multi-million dollar retrofit. 

My day-to-day activities regularly involve dealing with workplace unions, health and safety committees, fit testing equipment, indoor air quality concerns and monitoring noise levels.
